MAINE INFUSION STANDARDS

ASHP policy ASHP 1306 IV Standards encourages standardization of infusions, for the purposes of patient safety and to encourage the availability of pre-mixed solutions.
MeSHP Board of Directors collected data on infusions used at Maine hospitals and by EMS and found many commonalities.  The following standards are endorsed by:
– Maine Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) in October, 2014.
– Maine Association for Healthcare Quality (MAHQ) on October 1, 2014.
– Organization of Maine Nurse Executives (OMNE) in March, 2015.
